Where do we go

Where do we go from these thoughts opaque
From these hard city streets
To a small town by a lake?
From down and out
With crowds all standing on our gowns
I don’t understand the attraction
Looking for hope and satisfaction
Is it passion that makes you long so hard
An empty look in your eyes on the train
An unknown beauty, glowing but still not vain
Oh I’d love to get lost with you in the rain
If only this planet was colder
And everyone on it was just a little bit bolder
You can’t smoke on the moon
Covered in blood
All we can hope for our children is that they’ll (too get to) roll in the mud
Can someone let me out at the next exit
I’ve been running with the rats down here
Playing hard and living free
But now I must admit I’ve come up bust
I guess sweet music is the only thing worth our trust
I’ve done my time walking in the dust
Thin coats of paint cover this steel heart from rust
That youthful flame that used to burn so bright with lust
Fame, romance, heartaches and time were the enemy
I might be blind but my spirit can’t get crushed
In the black of night, tar streets swept clean
Sweet eloquent tiger waits for the hint
For the soft hands to let loose on their keys
For his broad smile to wrinkle
And the pearly whites to be twinkled
So the fire that burns bright inside
Can break out into the crowd and mingle
Turn the lights on Paris, this hit better be a triple
