I don’t know how to say it But the waves seem sleepier than usual The ocean softly surrendering to the great land

It seems the feeling is mutual

The ultimatum of their long journey from another coast They end their lives in teary foam Their stories coat the rocks in character Their sons reform behind in anger

But I’d like to propose a toast To the souls of the sea that rest here near this road And to the vagabonds that came to call this place home And that’ll go further into time and space So that we may experience all that life has to taste

To make sense of these beautiful waves And perhaps even the joyful seal Who could teach us all how to kneel And live and love by the rip of the tide
